How to setup Busy Lights on a Yealink T26P/T28P Phone

Getting Started

We recommend that your Yealink phone has been upgraded to one of the following versions of firmware for best functionality.

  • Yealink T26P - 6.3.23.2
  • Yealink T28P - 2.3.23.3

Instructions on how to perform a firmware upgrade are available at http://www.yealink.co.uk/downloads/

You can find the current version of firmware loaded on your phone by pressing the Menu key, followed by the Enter soft key when Status is highlighted, the firmware revision is shown on the screen alongwith the IP Address and MAC of the phone.

Basic Configuration

Once logged into the Web administration of your Yealink phone as the Admin user, click on the Phone tab at the top of the screen followed by the DSS Key option.

You can then begin to configure the light behaviour as per the screenshot below.

  • You will need to change the Type to BLF
  • The Mode column will be greyed out
  • The Line needs to be changed to the line number your extension is configured on (Normally Line 1)
  • The Extension needs to be filled in with the extension number you wish to monitor

Once you are happy with the settings click on Confirm

The example above shows that the configured extension under Line 1 is being used to monitor the user on extension 1000223

When the user at 1000223 is not on the phone, the chosen key on the right hand side of the phone will be green indicating that the user is free.

If the user is on the phone then the light will change to red, to indicate the user is busy.
