How to configure the Apple iPhone for Hosted Exchange
Getting Started
This document applies if your Exchange account has been provisioned on the server cloud-mail.co.uk
Basic Configuration
- Press the Center (Menu) button to bring up the Applications Menu
- Next select the Settings option
- Next select Mail, Contacts, Calendars menu option
- Select the Add Account option
- Select Microsoft Exchange from the provider type
The following settings need to be entered in order to provision the account (some of the settings may not be visible until you have entered the basic account details and the iPhone has verified the account)
- Email - Your Email address for example joe.smith@example.com
- Server - cloud-mail.co.uk
- Domain - This does not need to be completed
- Username - Your Email username (for example used for OWA) joe.smith@example.com , this is normally the same as your email address
- Password - Your Email mailbox password
- Description - Enter a service description here such as Work Email or Home Email
- Use SSL - ON
Once these options have been entered, the iPhone will then prompt you to Synchronise , you can then specify the type of synchronisation you wish to perform. Your iPhone will prompt you if any information may be overwritten or duplicated - however it is advised to ensure you back up your Contacts/Calendar before attempting a synchronisation.
- Contacts - This will synchronise any contacts saved on the Exchange platform to your local contacts book.
- Calendar - This will synchronise your Outlook calendar to your iPhone
- Email - This will synchronise your Email with your iPhone
